Emo-pop artist Coda Meraki emerged in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Inspired to write through pain, struggle, and sadness growing up in the grunge rock, rap, and pop influenced 90s, Coda gravitated towards deeply emotional pace setters such as Frank Sinatra, Kurt Cobain, Chester Bennington, and Gerard Way with a mix of guitars and emo-pop beats, and emotionally charged lyrics. Coda’s debut single “Happy” was released in May 2020, lyrically expressing battles of anxiety, addiction, and depression. Quickly following with singles “Trigger,” “On My Own,” and “13,” Coda grabbed the attention of fans on Soundcloud and social media. His first full-length record, When The World Is Upside Down, in October 2020. Featuring collaborations and features by producer TYZN and Landon Tewers (The Plot In You), the album garnered 250k plays on Spotify in under 90 days.
