VRSTY (VAR•SI•TY) is a 5 piece R&B / Post-Hardcore infused band from NYC. Brainchild of vocalist Joey Varela, VRSTY began its transition from solo project to full band in the summer of 2015 with the release of their first EP “Lights”. Following the release of the “Lights” EP, the band fleshed out its sound with the addition of new members and released their first full band single “Risen” in October 2015. “Risen” was followed up with a second single, “Reign Dance” (featuring Jonny Craig [formerly of Slaves]) in April 2016 which led to VRSTY’s signing to Artery Recordings.

Having spent 2017 writing and recording for a new album, VRSTY was left hanging with the buyout of Artery Recordings in 2018. The band quickly regrouped, however, and took the changes in stride releasing new singles “Unity”, “Promises, Promises”, and “Neon” and continuing a busy tour schedule.

In November 2018 the band released “Impressionable Me”, followed by “Colorblind” (Feb. 2019) which lead up to the release of their EP “Blck” in March 2019 which hit several Billboard charts, coming in at #36 Hard Rock, #45 Heatseekers, #82 Independent Albums, and #199 Top Physical Albums. The band stayed busy in 2019, playing over 100 tour dates to push the release of their EP, and now teamed up with Artery Global for booking has plans to do even more in 2020.
