Lucrecia is a Kawaii-Core band from the Bay Area, California, combining elements of progressive metal with a Japanese influenced idol aesthetic. Lucrecia began in 2016 when vocalists Suki and Frankie Alonzo attended a gig together and expressed interest in forming a band. Due to their common interest in music, video games, and anime, it wasn’t long until they agreed and settled on the name Lucrecia, which was inspired by one of their favorite games, Final Fantasy VII. Suki and Frankie decided that the band in itself is an ode to everything they love about Otaku Culture. The duo quickly got to work recruiting fellow musicians to join them, and eventually Lucrecia was completed with Gabe on drums, Daisuke and Forest on guitar, and Shane on bass.

Inspired by bands like Dance Gavin Dance, The Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza, Issues, and Oceans Ate Alaska, they combined elements of progressive Metalcore and soaring catchy melodies to serenade their audience. The band found success with their song “Brotherhood” which has garnered over 240,000 views on Youtube and over 196,000 streams on Spotify. Lucrecia then went on to release “Sleeping Slaves Of Fate”, which reached over 500,000 views on YouTube and 450,000 streams on Spotify and is still climbing. Lucrecia has gone on to develop a dedicated fan base due to their strong connection with their fans and their genuinity. Suki has shown she is truly an idol by making sure to give back to her fans and by forming a strong bond with them. The band has continued to grow exponentially and defy the odds, and in the words of Kevin Hellestad “In regards to Lucrecia making it, it’s not a matter of if, but when.” – Kevin Hellestad, The Chord Progression Podcast.
